The Six Princesses of the Chaddamar Theocracy

Introduction

Queen Tavania Sadeish is the reigning monarch of the Chaddamar Theocracy and High Priestess of the religion. Queen Sadeish belongs to a powerful family and a longstanding political dynasty, dating back several centuries. Traditionally, sons of the Queen enter military or political service. Daughters enter service to the Church. According to the doctrines of the Chaddamar religion, upon the death of the Queen, her immortal spirit transfers to the eldest daughter of the Queen. As such, the Queen is reincarnated and therefore immortal.

The fact that each Queen has a daughter is seen as a miracle of the faith. Perhaps as if to fulfill destiny, Queen Tavania has six daughters (one for each of the Chaddamar, she claims). It is whispered that this was no accident and that spellcraft ensured she bore only daughters. In truth, magic has been employed by the Church for generations to ensure each Queen bears at least one daughter. This goes against the tenets of the faith and is hidden from the public.

In any case, Queen Tavania has one daughter for each of the Chaddamar and, in subtle ways, she works to bring the personality of each daughter in line with their patron god.

The Six Princesses

The Six Princesses, in order from eldest to youngest (ages 21 to 17), are as follows:

Princess Nephenee

Princess Nephenee, the eldest daughter, is the Queen's favorite and is destined to be the vessel to which she will be reincarnated one day. Queen Tavania dotes on Nephenee and can refuse her nothing. Princess Nephenee gets the most gifts, is lavished with expensive jewelry and is invited to attend the Queen at royal functions the most. This preferential treatment of the eldest daughter has been tradition going back for several generations. Each Queen prepares her eldest daughter for the day of "transcendence of the Queen's soul".

Princess Teesha

Princess Teesha is a calm and intelligent girl who likes to think things through. She is an avid reader and is often found in the library with a book or perusing the archives sorting through ancient scrolls. She has a great love of history and is the only daughter to have made a journey to Garreon's Wall.

Princess Uridia

Princesses Uridia, Veselina and Okayama are triplets (currently age 18). Princess Uridia is a rebellious tomboy with a heart of gold. She is athletic and prefers to ride horses and run free. She dislikes court life and avoids her responsibilities as much as possible. She dislikes seeing others mistreated and has stepped in to prevent the punishment of a servant on more than one occasion.

Princess Veselina

Princess Veselina is a quiet girl with a love for animals. She keeps numerous pets, but her favorite are a pair of dogs that follow her constantly. She has studied with the priestess who practice "natural healing" and has become adept at alchemy and healing. She has used her healing skills to nurse many sick or injured animals back to health.

Princess Okayama

Princess Okayama is free-spirited and loves to dance and play instruments. She is seen, by many, as the most beautiful of the six princesses. She has many admirers, though her sisters see her as frivolous.

Princess Jerolla

Princess Jerolla is the youngest daughter at age 17. Jerolla is a believer in justice in the court system and an advocate of due process. On more than one occasion, the young princess has burst into council meetings to protest the treatment of the commoners, or bring attention to some injustice in the city or request aid for a person in need. She believes the church and government are in need of reform. Her actions have been the cause of much consternation for the Queen and other higher ranking priestesses in the Church.
